ABOUT ME

I work at the intersection of medicine, public health, and technology.

My work is driven by a simple conviction: health outcomes are shaped by systems. Where we are born, the communities we grow up within, and the infrastructure that surrounds us determine opportunity long before a clinician intervenes.

I began my career as a doctor working in areas of significant socioeconomic deprivation. I saw how trauma, inequality, and institutional fragmentation converge in the lives of individual patients. It became clear that improving health at scale requires redesigning the environments that shape it.

That realisation moved me upstream, studying global public health and digital transformation. Since then, I have worked across community-based refugee programmes, international funding portfolios, and national digital initiatives - often in politically sensitive or high-scrutiny environments. My role has consistently been the same: step into complexity, bring coherence, and design structures that allow people to move forward together.

Growing up as a Syrian in Scotland has granted me fluency in navigating diverse cultures, institutions, and competing perspectives. I understand that systems are shaped not only by formal structures, but by trust, perception, and lived experience. That perspective shapes how I lead: with compassion, clarity, and the ability to align diverse stakeholders and deliver change at scale.

I see digital capability, including responsible use of AI, as an essential lever for improving public health. Through national programme delivery and formal study, including the LSE AI Leadership Accelerator, I have explored how emerging technologies can strengthen transparency, intelligence, and equity within health systems.

My focus now sits at the intersection of public health and scaling health technology - building digital infrastructure that strengthens health systems and improves outcomes at population level.

Open to senior digital health and health technology opportunities.

beyond the office

When I’m not working, you’ll either find me somewhere outdoors:  exploring Scotland’s coastline and mountains, and unwinding in the quiet rhythm of sauna and sea.

I practise yoga regularly and am currently training as a teacher. Time in nature and connection with my community helps keep me grounded — something I’ve found essential when working in complex systems and high-pressure environments.

Building infrastructure that shapes health outcomes — from individual care to national systems.
